Laissez les bons temps rouler…

…or as we say down here in Louisiana “Let the good times roll!” It’s good to be home. I’ve already had a dozen random strangers tell me hi and an employee at at&t walk clear across the room to open a door for me. The weather is even teasing me by being nice and breezy, helping me to ease into the 110 degree summer that I know is upon us. Since I last posted, my mom and I spent an intense 3 days packing my three bedroom townhouse into a UBox (like the Pods, only smaller and less expensive from UHaul). Let’s just say I have some serious numbers to add to my quest to get rid of 2,011 things this year.

We were a little slap happy towards the end there. My mom thought we needed some pampering and so we got manis and pedis on the last day and then came home to do more packing. She kept saying her feet hurt and realized about three hours later that she still had her toe separators on:
Maybe you had to be there?
Anyway, the packing ended and my graduation ceremony was really nice:
Glad to have all that school behind me! Of course, the crowning achievement was making it through the 18 hour drive from Virginia to Louisiana. Luckily my mom and I are similar creatures and peacefully listened to our respective audio books the whole way. Julep liked her little nest we made on the passenger side of the car too:
I have two weeks before my summer job starts. I almost don’t know what to do with myself! I’m used to being insanely busy, and I filled the time today by cleaning up and taking Julep on two separate walks. It was so pretty today, though. I’ll tell you about the historic little town my parents live in later on this week:
Until then, can’t wait to catch up on all my blog reading!
xoxo!

  2. Your mom sounds adorable and hilarious! I probably wouldn’t have been able to stop laughing at that one:) I bet you are so happy to be back home, I’m from Northern VA but my family is from Georgia so whenever I go visit I am always caught off guard by how nice and polite everyone is:) Gotta love the South!

  3. Congrats on making the trek and graduating! Glad your mom could be with you the whole way even if your husband could not. Enjoy your last few months in the states for a while!
